Meet The Band

Cody Stewart

From a young age, I have been infatuated with country music. People often ask why I like the classics. I guess it's because my grandfather, John T. Stewart would play his guitar and sing to me when I was an infant. Times that account for some of my earliest recalled memories.

Both of my parents were supportive in buying me instruments. And when I was a pre-teen, my grandmother insisted and payed for me to get guitar lessons. Marilyn Myers, my guitar teacher, deserves much of the credit for my musical skills and musicianship. She opened a lot of doors for me and helped me network with other musicians around Michigan.

Through college and my early working life, I spent weekends gigging in Butch and George Broad's band in Traverse city. Both local legends in TC.

In 2018, I was inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame as a Tenderfoot.

The last several years, I've been actively involved in several country bands all over michigan. I've had considerable requests from my supporters to start my own band to serve the northwestern michigan region. Consequently The Traverse City Troubadours were established.

I'd like to dedicate my work to my Gradpa, John T. Stewart and the many others whose loved ones taught them to love country music!
